Many people will flame you for doing such a thing. SS and WS6 owners pride themselves on having genuine factory "speciality" cars and to see someone just arbitrarily throw that stuff on and call it a day insults their sense of pride and uniqueness.

Personally, I wasn't willing to spend the extra 5K that genuine WS6's in southern California were fetching. I figured I could add WS6 pieces to any T/A and save a considerable amount of money. I won't POSE as a genuine WS6 owner, as in I won't place the badges, but I will have the equipment and the looks, and that's what matters to me.

Ultimately you need to follow what you think is right. What difference does anyone's opinion have as long as you're happy?

happiness is key, but why spend the extra money on show, it's all about the go! Unless you already have that.

Doesnt matter, do what u want.

Just don't try and sell it as an SS, or brag that its a real SS.

Peace,
Craig.

its all about what you want.... if you like the look of the SS better, do it. my friend just got done ordering the hood, spoiler, grill and ZR1 rims for his Z28. looks better in my opinion.... im alil biased though.

Doesn't matter to me. SS 4th gens are an appearance package more than anything else anyhow but I do agree with what CRAGER said.. don't go around saying its a real SS.

SS wheels, hood, and spoiler are ok on a Z28. but you cross the line when you put badges on saying its an SS . to me i think its stupid to call your Z28 an SS its not like a Z28 is a joke compared to a SS its just not as flashy and slightly less power stock for stock. but who leaves their Z28 stock LOL!!!

you dont put SS badges on a Z28 cause thats disrespect to the True SS.

Well I guess I'm one of those beligerent SS owners who don't want people slapping SS look alike parts on a Z. My personal opinion is if you wanted your car to look like an SS then you should have held out and bought one instead of a Z. I'm one of the few people on this board that will say that though

i dont understand why its such a huge deal making a Z28 look like an SS when it doesnt seem to be as huge of a deal to make a trans am look like a WS6. the only problem i see with that is when u start throwing badges on to go with it. but otherwise, in the long run there the same car anyways, a SS was a z28 from the factory they just sent it off to SLP to throw the extra crap on, same as the TA's, they were all firebirds until they started puting extras on.

everything but the emblems is fine. Once you put SS emblems on, you just became a poser and should go back to playing with Honda Civics.

Hell it's your car do what you want. Add the hood add the spoiler, add rims, ect... Badges I would not some do.

Enjoy your car do what you want. I added the SS hood and SS spoiler to my Z/28.

Good Point. it seems like everything from GM now days has a SS badge on it, but there is only one z28. the SS styling does have the edge over the Z though. IMO the TA looks mean but i think it can be to cluttered with all the downforce, ramair styling, and the Z looks to plain IMO, and the SS is right in between, not to much and not to little, juuust right as far as styling goes.

Hmmm...Strange.I have been into F-Bodies for about 25yrs and have yet to see someone pull off thier SS badges and put on Z28 badges.

There IS a difference.YES,basically just in name but, that name means something to many SS owners.People who only compare the mechanics of the cars don't understand in my opinion. If the HP numbers are all you care about and you don't really appreciate an SS for being an actual SS,it is a waste of money for you.

A Z28 is NOTHING and I WILL REPEAT....NOTHING to be ashamed of or has any less heritage in its own name. Some would argue that it actually has a stronger heritage than the SS name.

So with that...If you like the look of the SS then go for it.(I like the look myself.. ).

Just don't misrepresent it as something it is NOT.

BTW many people always say
"Just buy the stuff and make it look like an SS!""You will save money".

I disagree...If you want that look, get an SS in the 1st place.By the time you add up the hood, the spoiler, the wheels, the tires, shipping, installation and painting...You have a pretty big bill on your hands.

"Buying the parts for the look" is something you should do if you already have a car and want to change the look...but if your still shopping,I would just get the SS in the 1st place.

In the end do what makes you happy man..Good luck!
