Default a simple request

hello I just bought a z28 camaro and ive just been falling in love with the thing and lately ive been thinking maybe its time to expand my horizons and learn more about motors. ive always beem the type that knows a lot more about body work than i do engines, but I really wanna know more about how motors work now cause even though the ls1 stock is faster than the majority of cars I've driven, theres always that want for something more. Instead of just blindly buying what im told, I really wouldnt mind knowing the information myself as well

so my request is this. Do you guys know of any book or website that I can begin researching from that I can learn the majority of all I need to know to build an engine. And im not talking just parts. Im tlaking about a source that explains what all the numbers people talk about here on ls1tech mean. Cause frankly a lot of times when i read discussions on here, im completly lost, and i really dont like that.

So if anyone here knows of a source in which I could learn more about how everything in a motor works then I would greatly appreciate, even just a link pointing to a way i can learn about this vast field.

I have the same books as six string wiz #1 and 2. I thought they were helpful as far as deciding on a setup that you might want and the tear downs of the motor. +1 on the books. They're good pooping material too LOL.
