You can either grind the ribs down on the bottom of the LS6 and keep your LS1 coolant tubes or you will need the new front tube and the rear block offs (or another front tube for the rear if you want to keep things vented back there).

Where did you get one for that cheap? I believe TSP sells a coolant line kit for doing an ls1 to ls6 intake swap.

The grinding of the LS6 ribs is much easier I think... (also note CHEAPER too).

You will also need to block off the EGR on your exhaust if you haven't already

i don't have any emissions so no egr for me... how common is it to grind down the ribs? are coolant temps really any lower if the are run out side the intake mani? i would love to just keep them where they are...

Grinding down the ribs seems to be the most efficient way, the LS1 coolant lines apparently do the job better.

How did you get one for that cheap??

I also elected to not spend the $45 on two plugs and a damn piece of pipe.

Here's the thread where I installed my LS6. It shows where to grind the ribs.

I opted against using the LS6 lines as well. I found that using a small chisel and hammer to knock off the ribs worked better than the Dremel...that's me though.

thanks DOUBT IT... did you actually lightly tap the coolant lines to flatten them slightly?

I didn't flatten them, just tapped them lightly where the junctions were. The tubing itself stays round. Just tap it enough to get it to sit flat on the valley cover.
