Default Speedometer climbs when I rev in nuetral

So I realized today that if I am in nuetral and rev it up past 3000 RPM the speedometer needle begans to climp as well up to like 10 MPH!!! Anyone have any idea? Perhaps I need a new Vehicle Speed Sensor? Any help would be great! Thanks in advance!!!

I couldnt tell you then. Mine did it in park and in neutral. After I fixed the ground problem it doesn't do it in either. I remember my parents had a 2002 Monte Carlo SS and it did it, but it also wouldn't rev over 3k or something like that in park or in neutral. That has to be the slowest SS on record, but the damn thing rode nice.

On a side note, I checked out your photos about the heads and cam swap, NICE car. I might be asking you some questions here shortly. I have my heads off now and I'm going to take everything else off to get the cam out friday.

Thanks for the compliment on the car. What was the ground problem? I would love to see if that fixes it!

It was for my toggle switch for my nitrous. I used one of those splice connectors and somehow it wasn't working correctly. So i took it off and soldered it in and no more problems. One day I went to start my car and it did nothing. I was pissed. So the next day I popped the hood and was looking around and jiggled the toggle switch wire and the battery made a clicking noise. I turned the key and started right up. Wierd **** what a ground can do.

I don't have much wired in other then the line lockers and shift light and I checked both of those they are just fine in terms of ground wire. I am tempted to ground out the VSS and see what happens...anyone else got any ideas?

How's your charging system? Mine did some funny **** when the speedo moved with just revving it. If your not having any problems then I wouldn't worry about it. Has it just started recently, have you just now noticed, or do you recall revving in nuetral and it not moving?

Mine does it too. My 05 Colorado did it and so does our 04 trailblazer. I doubt all of them have bad grounds.

I wouldn't worry about it then. I guess I have one out of the 12 then.
