Im going with an LS7 clutch. So my vote goes there. It will be good up to around 550ish rwhp so it should hold for a good while

I've got a Spec 3+ and couldn't be happier with it! Not sure if you knew this but the LS7 clutch is heavier than a stock clutch and the spec clutch. The pedal feel is great with the 3+. I would not recommend the regular Spec 3 if I had a choice between the two.

Not sure, I know i see alot of people on here having problems with spec. Mine just started slipping a few days ago after 6k. If i could do it over again, i would have bought the ls7. But now i am going all out and getting the mcleod twin at the end of this week. I hope i never have to drop the tranny again!

For just a bolt-on vehicle (unless the bolts hold on a nitrous bottle ), I'd go with the LS7 clutch kit. That will include disc, pressure plate & flywheel. You should consider getting the latest master & slave cylinders, and might as well get a new pilot bearing too.

I've had two Spec 2's and a Spec 3. The first Spec 2 lasted about 2 years, the other two lasted less than a year.

BYUNSPEED has the whole kit including the LS2 flywheel for 435 SHIPPED...im sorry, but you can NOT beat that.

My SPEC Stage 3 was just pulled, and had nothing but heat marks all over the bitch, and i do not ride the clutch or anything. I do not see me buying another SPEC, plus I wanted the LS7 because of its stock feeling solid disk design. The SPEC clutches that are "starred" in shape are notchy and un comfortable before you start getting use to them. The only good things to say though about SPEC is even though it was in very rough condition after low miles it still held up to some abuse from time to time and they were easy to engage the clutch with.

Here are some pics of the Spec Stage 3 that was just taken out:

The 3+ is a disk, not like the puck you posted. It will last much longer as puck styles are not meant for street driving.

go LS7, the price alone is 200 cheaper than just the spec without a flywheel, for a bolton car you cant go wrong with it...hell i know guys with cammed GTO's (which are heavier than the F-bod) running it and still holding up well

The Spec 2+ and accompanying flywheel that's in my H/C GTO has a nice firm feel to it and hasn't exhibited any of the problems that you sometime read about. I'd think about going with another when the time comes.

No experience with the LS7 setup to compare to, however.

I've had my Ls7 clutch in my car for over 25,000 miles now. I've never had a problem with it. I put down right at 430 to the wheels on motor and well over 550 to the wheels on spray. It still holds great and I still get surprised looks from my friends when they drive the car at how soft it is compared to their spec clutches. Mine still drives like a stock clutch and still grabs really hard all the way up to 7000 rpm. I haven't had any problems at the track. Broke my 10 bolt before the clutch starting slipping and is still going strong with the 9 inch now. I DD the car last year and still put well over 150 miles a week on it now.
