help with my set up 402 stroker
I've got a 01 camaro with a 402 stroker turbo 400 trans only a 3200 converter ford 9" rearend 370 gears. First we'll start out as it's a ls2 block eagle crank eagle rods diamond pistons afr 225 heads fast 90 intake holley 90 TB, 85mm maf 42 lbs svo injectors kooks 1 7/8 headers y pipe with a cutout. It's about 11.5 to 1 compression texas speed 257/266 113 don't remember the exact lift. My problem is it only made 430 to the tires. I would think it should make more than that, I took it to the track and it went 11.40 at 119 with a 1.6 60 foot on motor and I sprayed a 150 shot it only went 10.70 at 125 with a 1.5 60 foot. Both of these were off the foot brake
On nitrous it only picked up 65 horse on the dyno. The car weights 3650 with me in it. It is pretty much full suspension car. It only has a racetronics fuel pump in it and it seems to drop fuel pressure to about 52 psi why am I losing fuel pressure do I need a inline pump to hold pressure? Why is it not making power it should make any suggestions? do I need better exhoust? tune seems good it drives on the street great. a/f is at 12.9 and total timing is 26 and 6 degrees pulled on nitrous.
Any help would be great
Thanks pete

430 HP to the tires sounds pretty respectible. Also, the TH-400 is more parasitic then the 4L60E or a manual transmission (and the Ford 9" moreso then the GM 10 bolt). I tuned a stock 2006 GTO w/ 4L60E last weekend, its baseline was 319 HP. If we believe the LS2 makes 400 HP at the crank, we were loosing about 25.3% HP through the drivetrain.
The TH-400 & 9" Ford likely eats even more then that (could be closed to 30%), but if we take that figure of 25.3%, its making 540 HP at the crank. That seems pretty good, to me anyway.
If the tuner dialed in the AFR and timing based on maximum recorded HP/TQ (I have seen LSx style motors make *more* power richer then 12.9 in some cases), and there's no "knock retard", it sounds like the tune is good.
If the motor is pretty new, it may "loosen" up with a few more miles.
Sounds like an awesome engine build - I'd like to put one of those in my Z28. ;-)

I would say that your times are what counts. Mid/Low elevens is what cars similar to mine run. I havn't taken mine to the strip ...... I road race. You can see my sig for results with my 402.

You are turning very respectable times, the TC & Tranny are taking away from the RWHP readings....take them with a grain of salt. I run 11.00's @114 with only 330 RWHP. All in the track times. (4500 TC, 3.42 gears, 1.53 60') Could be a little left in the tune, but I would say you are good.
