Spec 3+ vs. Textralia OZ700
#3
Depends on how often you like to change a clutch. The Spec wants you to break it in gently and then never slip the clutch when driving around town. Even then, their rep is questionable. The Textralia you put it in and go. No break in (I was spraying mine in a heavy GTO after 200 miles) and you can slip it in everyday driving...like backing out of a parking place. Hell, if it squeaks when letting off the clutch, they recommend slipping it some to take the glaze off the flywheel. Textralia's customer service is second to none...unlike Spec's which they have you send it back and they do thier best to blame the installation. It's ultamately your call...but for me I didn't like pulling a transmission or buying the same parts twice, so I went Textralia.

Also to mention that the spec 3+ is about less then half the price. The plus series is waaaay better then the regular 3, we had 2 friends fry their regular 3 due to excessive slipping but the 3+ in one of the cars is driving quite fine. The other went down to a spec 2 since he likes to slip the clutch.

I just had my Spec 3+ installed along with a new spec billet steel flywheel yesterday and I have about 50 miles on it, at first it chatter quite a bit, but now it seems to take off much smoother and grabs like a ****. I will give yal input as soon as I break it in. The clutch is lighter than my previous Ram HD and it engages at lower than it too. I am very happy with it so far.

Got my Spec 3+ install finished today. I ran into all kinds of problems with this install ( No fault of the clutch.) But the car is now on the road and I must say I like this clutch. Pedal is not much harder than a LS6 clutch and engagement is quiet , smooth , and chatterless. Grabs hard although I won't really get on it until it has about 500miles on it. I'm liking it .

Just read what the editor of GMHTM said about the OZ700SBX

"Editor's Note: After having driven just about every combination of stock, single organic disc, single combo disc, single metallic disc, and dual metallic disc in T56-equipped F-bodies, GTOs, and Corvettes, I can say the Textralia OZ700 X-Grip is one of the most livable clutches I have ever felt with an significant amount of holding power. Chatter is virtually nil and pedal effort is near stock, leaving little indication that this clutch is anything but stock. In addition, the balanced engagement also leaves little evidence of an aftermarket clutch, as you'd normally expect the premature engagement, which produces that undersirable clutchy or grabby sensation. The combination of this clutch and the reassuring B&M shifter make Frank's Z truly a joy to drive. The B&M is butter-smooth unlike any other aftermarket I have tried, which are sometimes notchy and hard to get in ggear. Though there is a lack of adjustability with the handle (unlike other brands), the length is sufficiently comfortable and I would see no need to change it."
