...and wheels.
If you're going to mod the car, just get a base t/a, since you'll probably be replacing most/all of what makes the ws6 what it is.
if you're going to keep it stock, then get a ws6 if that's what you prefer.

Depends on the year. If you get a late model 01-02 they already come with the LS6 intake manifold. The air box opening is higher for the ram air. A specific tuned exhaust and handling. But sectari is right, if you are going to change all those things you will be wasting money to pay more for WS6 and then change the parts that make it one.

Well why not get a ws6 if your gonna change all that stuff? Get something that has everything you want. The LS6 intake upgrade is pretty popular and it's not exactly an easy task. As far as suspension goes now that don't make a difference to me cuz they need better suspension anyway. But it is preference too. I personally wanted either an 01 or 02 WS6 when I decided to start looking for an LS1 fbody.

i spent an extra couple grand and got an 02' WS6 i love mine, there is a few small things that a different than a regular TA. suspension, appearance, air box like people said is raised, the clutch supposdly a Z06 clutch and the exhaust is more supposdly run better to flow better. you hear all kinds of stuff. i love mine, yeah all TA's gets attention on the street, but the WS6's really gets attention. i have had tons of comments on the car from wendy's drive through to gas stations.

Yeah, just get what you like the look of. There is not enough of a difference otherwise. Like choosing between a Z/28 or SS.
BTW, I think that all '01 and '02s have the LS6 clutch.

everyone is right on about the differences. I went with the WS6's for reasons like I dont feel like buying the hood and having it painted, the fact it was a WS6, and the other little things I dont feel like dicking with. I felt it was worth it. Id get the WS6 if you dont feel like screwing with hoods, wheels and putting the badge on . Anyway you look at it you cant go wrong. The reg TA's arent quicker than the WS6's and vice versa. They are pretty much the same. Good luck

+1, plus if you get an A4 it will have 3.23 already
hood cost over 1K e-z, and no regular ta's regardless of year do not come with the raised intake

get a ws6 man..
I had a regular 02' t/a when i was 16 and the first thing i wanted to do was get the ws6 wheels and hood, I never got around to it cuz i didnt have a job in high school therefore no $$. Its worth getting an 01-02 for the ls6 intake, hood, and wheels and youre good to go. Save you some time and the hassle of upgrade all of those things down the road.
