Largest Stealth 383 Cam? Hey all,
What would be the largest cam I could get away with that would idle and drive like stock? My setup is a 383 LS1, PRC LS6 ported heads, stock headers, stock cats, and stock exhaust. As strange as this sounds, I'm currently on a stealth fixation, so please excuse the strangeness of this request.

To be more specific, does the general rule of adding 6 to the duration when comparing to the characteristics of a 346 LS1 cam apply?
I am asking simply because the search feature is not turning up much concrete info regarding this request.

How "stealthy" it is will depend a LOT on your exhaust configuration.
If you run LTs with cats and something like a SLP dual dual you can get away with more cam than a dual exhaust dumped under the axle.

I've had several cams in my 383 block. All setups were with LT with high flow cats, AFR 205 heads, and such:
LPE GT2-3, 207/220 0.578/0.578 118lsa
TR224, 224/224 0.563/0.563 114lsa
Currect cam 234/238 0.600 lift 114lsa
The GT2-3 was very stealthy! Unless you know what to listen for, no one would know its a cammed car. I think my hp was around 375rwhp. Super drivablity.
The TR224 was great. Better power than the LPE, pretty quite & smooth for a cammed car, some would know there was a cam, most wouldnt have a clue. hp was around 425rwhp. Also had super drivablily.
My cuurect cam is no secret! People know when I'm pulling into thier driveway, parking lots or simply driving down the street. 470rwhp, and its a little tempermental to drive at times, only at slow speeds or stop/go traffic.
