Default cam question

Is there any way to find out what type of cam an lt1 has with out taking it out of the engine

Nope..unless it's a fresh Engine and you get the Buildsheet with it.

If its a stock cam, yes. Otherwise you would have to degree the cam...

And the only plus is that you can degree it without taking the intake off. If you wanna take the cam out and look at the back to see a grind number, then you'll have to take the lifters out. Even then, there's no guarantee that we will know what the grind numbers mean.

If it idles normal it is stock, if it is verry radical, you can call it "BIG". Other than that, nope.
