Thinkin about swapping Torquer V.2 for Vindicator
Like it says guys. What do you think. The more i read about it the more i want it. I have the stage 2.5 5.3 heads so i cant go with the ms4 like i wanted. The vindicator looks like the next best thing and I think it will fit without flycutting. Am I wrong? But anyway does this sound like a good or bad idea? Just tryin to find all the power i possibly can on stock bottom end.

ok maybe i'm looking at this wrong. the it was explained to me or atleast the way i took it was that it was based on lift.
Vindicator- 240/244 .608/.596 112+4.
MS4- 239/242, .649"/.609" 111
I guess i'm lookin at it wrong but the vindicator looks smaller to me. will someone explain please

I don't know shi. about cams but I do remeber ready in an older thread that it is not the lift that is the big thing with PTVC, because the piston in closer to BDC at full lift. I'm sure someon who knows will cime in.

Peak lift occurs when the piston is at the bottom of it's bore, and has little to do with the critical p/v clearance point, which occurs very near TDC
Duration is the biggest factor in p/v clearance, the longer you hold the valves open, the closer they become when the piston is moving towards them.
Ramp rate of the cam lobe is also a big factor...you can hold the valve open longer if you open and close them faster...this is why the XE-R and LSK lobes have become very popular and why duration specs have grown over the years and still manage to clear the pistons.
The bottom line is...The Vindicator has been measured at clearances much less then what's normally recommended as "safe", with stock heads and gasket. It clears, but not by much. Toss in big valve heads, and well, it ain't gonna happen.
You're probably nearing safe clearance limits with your T2 and stg 2.5 heads. If you want bigger, plan on flycutting..

Ic Ic. learn something everyday. I seen a guy sayin he ordered the new V.3 with the same heads as me. And I've seen the MS3 run with my heads. What do you think of these?
MS3- 237/242 .603/.609"
Torquer V.3- 231/234 .643"/.598"
Torquer V.2- 232/234 .595/.598
Would I see a gain from changing to one of these then? Which one? Worth the time?

Changes my thinking since I was considering those same heads and the MS4. As kkslds is asking, would the MS3 work? If anyone has the same heads, and a good sized cam without flycutting, what cam are you guys running? Not hijacking kks, just curious also.

Nothings wrong with it just wondering if there is more power to be had with another one. I'm tryin to get as much as i can. A cam swap is a pretty easy job and if it would be worth it i'd do it. I dont want to redo the bottom end until i have to. I dont know what else i can do to gain some more power but upgrade some of what i have. Any suggestions on anything?
