how much better are stock heads off a 02 z06 with 30k on them?? Are they worth $500 ???

lol not THAT bad. it came with the camshaft too, but i would want a bigger one if i was to get one.

finding a good new bare set is worth 500$, assembled thaey go for more.
if u get a quality used set for about 500$, thats also a good deal

From what I have gathered, those heads are good for about 20 hp on a stock motor. And that is a pretty good price for them aswell, I say go for it.

We can do you a set of brand new GM 243's assembled with non-sodium valves for $450.00 per set.

Assembled 243s go from the 450-525 price range if they are assembled and are in good shape.


But dollar/hp ratio is not very "loving".


I would save up 500 more bucks and pick up some ported 243s or 5.3L heads.

We also offer these heads CNC ported with the oem valves and our Patriot Gold springs for $1095.00 per pair assembled.

well they come off a friends z06 and he was selling the heads and cam together for $500 on a local forum. I wasnt too interested in them really. I was kinda just curious because everyone on that forum was saying that was too expensive

It's a good deal, if they do in fact come off a Z06. 243 castings were also available on other cars and do not have the lightweight sodium filled valves.

they should be good for 20rwhp.
