i have one...i like it for the most part...Your air filter will get dirty a lot faster..but other than that no problems with it. I did have to remove the bottom scoop section so i could mount my transmission cooler...

I guess I'm the only one to ever experience any problems with one. After I helped my buddy put one on his car it was just so much faster that everyone thought he had more done to his car than he claimed to have. It really turned people against us, because they thought we were lying. So I have to say that you shouldn't get a FTRA if you want to keep your friends.
On a serious note, When we installed the FTRA we cut the hole a little too big in the bottom of the airbox no way to completely seal it off. Went to the track and the car ran 13.2-13.4 @ 108 very consistently (about 20 passes or so). The next week we went to Lowes and bought some stuff to really seal it up good. The result was a 13.006 @ 111, with numerous 13.0-13.2 @ 110-111 mph. I'd have to say that ram air really works. This was on a 02 WS6 M6 w/ FTRA, lid, ported MAF and a 'dynamouth' exhaust. Also this was in cold February air, with similar temps and conditions on both weekends
On the street the results were also very evident. Another guy that also has an 02 WS6 M6. His mods were K&N FIPK and GMMG chambered exhaust. From a 20 roll the cars were dead even until they would shift to third. And the FTRA car would pull easily 2 cars in third and just walk away in forth.
I believe that the air flow under the car would be roughly the same. And like I said above these were WS6 cars and it was that much improvement over their existing ram air. FTRA

Hi, I Was Wondering Does Anyone Have Instructions For Installing The Fast Toys Ram Air Intake??? I Just Picked Up For A Good Price But I Need Some Instructions And Some Install Pictures. I Had A Sight That I Found The Other Night And It Had Instructions And Pictures But My Printer Was Out Of Ink. I Bought A Ink Cartridge And Went To Print The Instructions And My 9 Year Old Son Deleted The Site. I Have A General Idea How It Goes But I Would Much Rather Get It Right The First Time. So Instructions And Pictures Would Be Great. Please Respond, Mike

i'm gonna throw a monkey in the wrench and say this.
the FTRA is a great piece....but i still perfer my SSRA.
i've only owned the SSRA....so i don't have much comparison...but then again, i'm sure most of you have only had the FTRA.
the SSRA is more expensive, but i feel the lower scoop is more effective.
and before anyone says it....i live in florida...land of hurricanes (RAIN)...never had a problem with water.
bottom line....either will work great
