LED tail-light conversion

LED tail-light conversion
Add another LT1 converted to full exterior LED lighting. I replaced the tail-lights, reverse lights and third eye brake lamp with the new LED tower's. The pictures don't do the brightness of the mod justice. LED's really bring out the color and intensity. I have finished converting all my exterior lighting to LED's and just wanted to take a few pics. I even replaced the 3rd eye stop lamp with LED towers

Those are bright! You should add one more socket to the outer bulb, I mean the 194, modify it with a dremel and add one 3157 bulb there, it'll make it look much better since the whole taillight fills in when you break or turn. I did that when I added sequentials to my 1994 LT1, but I never got the chance to install LEDs.

I purchased all the LED's from a non-sponsor (PM me if you want the name). The tail-lights for a 1996 WS6 ( I can't say what differences there are for other years. You should check your housing before purchasing any LED's) .
1. outside corners (2) 194 6 chip red led's
2. brake lamps (dual filament (1st part running, 2nd part brake)
(4) 27 led SMT towers red
3. reverse lights (2) 27 led SMT tower white
4. third eye brake lamp (2) 921-9 led tower ( you may have to slightly file the opening on your third eye brake lamp to fit this item. )
Some of the 27 led towers are very expensive per location, but the output is very bright with nice color saturation.

Actually the tail-lights look extremely balanced in person. If you saw the lighting you would not think that I needed to do anything. Remember I'm using the 5 way - 6chip LED 194's (much brighter & mas rico en colores) on the corners of the tail-lights.

I should just take a bunch of pictures of the install process and do a write-up. That might make alot of people happy ! I won't get to work on the car for about 3 weeks (if you can wait until then ?) .
