Default Does the ls1 oil pump have to be primed? how?

i purchased and ls1 for a conversion and it does not have any oil in it from shipping and set about a month, i am ready to put engine in car all other steps are complete, just trying to think of little things while engine is easily accesable,

i just threw in a little oil before installation. i think this just coats the pump gears and it is not a prime in the true sence...

The pump sits above the oil level in the pan anyway....

When I got mine from Katech, it was in a Zip Lock bag covered in oil...it wasnt dripping or anything, but everything was lubed enough that I didn't worry about it. Just make sure theres at least some surface oil on the inside of it and put it in and you'll be fine.
