no heat shields a problem?
When I put dumped exhaust on my car I removed all of the heat shields from the rear of the car, but my exhaust is just too loud so I want to go back to full exhaust. Will it hurt anything if I don't have the heat shields on there (specifically the one under the gas tank)?

The shop I get my work done has run quite a few cars this way, included their own without problems.
Me personally I had my gas tank heat shield removed a week or so after I got my gmmg on (around january of 07'). The banging was becoming a problem. No banging/problems since that was taken off (thanks God) and I drive a lot on AZ roads/heat.
Oh and I go to the dealership for all my maintenance generally and they never mentioned it or said anything negative about it. So I will assume it's OK.
just my .02.

Your GMMG could have been banging because you didn't slide the pipe in far enough for the over axle pipe. I had the same problem and took it all off got a pipe spreader and slipped the pipe just a bit further and no more banging on the heat shield on the gas tank..
