Default Horrible 60 ft with good suspension

I have a 2000 Z28. Here is my suspension list.
HAL QA1's at all four corners
Stock rear springs cut 1"
275# springs on the HAL's
BMR oversized (21mm)rear sway bar
adjustable panhard bar
BMR tubular LCA's
BMR tunnel mount adjustable torque arm
LCA relocation brackets

The battery is relocated to the back, I'm running no frontsway bar, my pinion is set at -3 overall, I have a 4200 stall, a TH350 with a manual valve body and I'm running 275/50/15 Mickey Thompson DR's and skinnies up front. I'm trapping 118/119 so i'm making decent power. My 60 ft times have never been better than 1.71. WTF? I do a nice long burnout and leave off the convertor but it leaves like a pig? any ideas?

I was at the track last night and saw you make some runs.

What do you have the hals at?

Are you getting wheel spin at all or just dog out of the hole?
I thought your front end looked a tad low, I thought maybe you were wasting time transferring weight.

Are the reloc brackets in the bottom postion?

Do you have the adjustable LCA from BMR? If so, make sure the rear end is going straight and one side isnt further forward than the other. Measure it underneath the car, not from the door to tire or like.

What tire psi in the fronts and backs as well?

Tire pressure at the rear was 18, front was 32
My lca's are set near the top to keep them parrallel with the car. front shocks were at 0 and the right rear was 6 and the left rear was 4.
It doesn't seem to be spinning just doggy out of the hole. I know last night I was down a bunch on power (1 sec, 9mph)because I had a bad spark plug. even when it's running on all 8 1.7's are the best I can muster.
The rear is center and square. I made sure of that when I did all the suspension originally. I am just wondering why it is so doggy out of the hole even with the 4200 stall. I need to get some fuel trim numbers down low to see if thats a problem. You get your TH400 setup yet?

try some more air in fronts I run ~40psi or so. It might help a tad.

Drop the lca to the bottom. They won't be parrallel with the car if they are now and you launch and squat at all.

I'm guessing the hals are r's, Last I checked I think my fronts are at 2 or 1, at kcir they did not like being at 0 and I spun. I have solid 50/50 rears so not much help from me but your settings look ok from what I have read.

Other than that im not sure.

My FLT level 4 is out and sold. I got my th400 apart waiting on my FMVB to get here, should be running in 2-3 weeks

so mike it sounds like you are bogging and not spining right? have you had an experiened spotter watch your rear tires on teh launch?

to me it sounds like it isnt spinning and the converter is not flashing high enough. do you have any data logs to show what its flashing to? no reason at all you arent pulling 1.59-1.62 minimum. esp with that gearing and tire. thats a good combo for n/a imo.

take care

TCI 4200. flashing the convertor. Probably stalling around 3800. It's hard to tell with these slow *** factory tachs.

^^^^ I don't know about the Yank and Vig part, but ATI, Protorque, Neil Chance, etc.. are great converters for TH350 / 400's.

I believe like gator's 99TA said.... the converter is not flashing to the right rpm you need to get you going. You or someone you know need someone to log the car and see what it's doing on the launch. Then you can figure out if the converter is too tight for what you want.

there is nothing wrong with a TCI if you are going to run it in a hydramatic style converter. their 4L60e ones are junk. its hard to **** up a th350/400 style converter. with the bigger first gear, a th350 should have no problems launching. the converter is too tight.

ASSUMING there is nothing wrong with the car and you are NOT spinning

1) send the converter back for a restall to loosen it up
2) spray it

my converter behind a cam only motor (same ole motor from back in the day - you remember it mike) went 1.55 60' na and a best of 1.37 60' on a 150-175 shot. this was at over 3500 lbs raceweight on the bigger radials and 3.73 gears.

IMO datalog will show what is going on. you need to find out where the motor is spinning to at different parts of the track.
