Anyone Running 3.90s or 4.10s in a 10 bolt M6
Is anyone running 3.90s or 4.10s in a stock 10 bolt with a M6? do you like them? I hate the way my 3.42s lug around in 6th even at highway speeds. Considering a gear swap. dont know about 4.10s but 3.90s look pretty good. Pros and Cons or any feedback at all from someone running either one thanks

There have been quite a few posts on this topic. I read most of them and consulted with other LSX guys in town. I went 4.10's and they were a huge improvement over the 3.42's. I use 6th gear all the time now, at 50 mph I can get in and cruise down the road verse before it would bog. At this point the gears are nice, but I sometimes wish I would have gotten 4.30's I think it would have made a better improvement on my bolton M6. Just my two cents though.

4:10s here and love 'em. Cruisin at 70mph in 6th is right around 2k so not bad at all. I had my stock gears for 1 night after the cam install and was kind of disappointed at how long the car took to make the power, until the next day when the gears were installed...night and day difference.

I have 4:10s in my 10 bolt... 100 MPH at about 2600-2700 RPM ... so, not all too bad at all.. Could probably justify 4:30s or 4:56's ... I did however just destroy my carrier, ring and pinion... so uh... beware I guess.

My gas mileage actually increased with my 3.90s. I love them. I'm at 2000 rpm at about 75 or 80mph in 6th gear. I can shift into 6th at maybe 48mph at the very lowest. It used to be like 54mph.

4.10 is the perfect ratio for a bolt-on car running stock diameter tires. I crossed the line in the 1/4 with the shift light on and trapped 113. With the 3.42s I had a TON of rpm left in 4th, which is far from optimum. And let's not even talk about how much they help the launch...
I do plan on going with 4.30s with my 9in though. They will work well on motor with 26in tires, and with 28s on the hose, they will be damn near perfect as well.
