LS1 mustang track times
my swap is a 93 coupe. 98 motor/4L60, TSP 225, Yank 3400, 3.73 gear, full exhaust, AJE tubular Kmember and D&D coilovers, BGF DR 235/60/15.
First time out it was untuned and it ran a dissapointing 8.09 with a shitty 2.02 sixty foot time. it wouldnt hook at all. the stock diff is one-wheeling and the motor/trans was pointed down pretty bad which im not sure if it effects pinion angle or not.
i lowered the Kmember one inch and raised the trans one inch as well. also the tires are used that had been sitting for a while.
before the next time out i had the car tuned. i wasnt really concerned with making more power but the driveability was ****. car surged and stalled at idle all the time. car picked up 16 HP going up to 322RWHP.
next time in the 1/4 mile i did much longer burnouts which helped the sixyt. i was about 95 degrees so the track was somewhat slippery.
it ran a 7.78@90 and 12.12@113. sixty foot time was 1.82. thats about where i thought the car should be and i was quite happy with that knowing it would be in the 11s with more traction.
three days later it ran 7.58@91 with a 1.70 sixty with the temp about 75 but very humid since it was about to rain, still with a busted posi.
the last two times at the track made me very happy about all the work i put in. before that i wasnt quite sure if i made the right decision or not.
i have yet to spray the car except the first night which it just spun but picked up 10MPH. hopefully the stock trans lives.
sorry for the long story and THANK YOU for all that post here making this so much easier.

cool man! keep turing the car in all aspects and get that posi fixed quick! then you should easily see the 11's you're looking for and then see what it'll do on the spray after the rest is sorted out.
got any updated pics? also, did you happen to weigh the car? just curious.

i will be putting on my 17 inch speedlines & 275/40/17 DRs but might wait until i get it painted since the clearcoat is destroyed.
there is a track rental on the 29th for a local website so my diff should be fixed and i will put some race gas in it and spray it.
the car hasnt been weighed but i really want to. im hoping for 2900lbs.
does anyone know who has the new carbon fiber diff kit from FMS? summit, jegs, powered by ford are all on back order. maybe i will just spend the 70 bucks and get the normal kit for now.
