I searched and need help...What size cut out?
I have searched and cannot find the answer. I have found many ways of installing but no one says what size cut out you need.
I am getting a QTP 2-1/2 electric cut out and need to know if I need a 2-1/2" or 3" y to install into my stock I pipe before the rear axle.
Actually what is the diameter of the stock I pipe?
Thanks for any help with this.

Stock I-pipe is between 2.5" and 3", leaning more towards 3". I got the 3" cut out and it worked. The cutout was slightly too big, so we went to harbor freights and got a "pipe expander"(not sure what the technical term is). It broke pretty fast, but it did expand the i pipe just enough to make it fit snug enough to weld.
I'm sure there's other ways to make it fit, but my friend's dad remembered seeing this and wanted to try it out.
So yeah, 3" cut out for stock i-pipe.

I think i heard somewhere that the stock piping is around 2.75", pretty much right between 2.5" and 3". I put a 2.5" on my stock setup and it made my tips hang really low for some reason..
