Low Tech Pushrod Racing for the LS1. Never have had DOHCs, and still don't. I thought I read somewhere that GM was going for a dual in-block cam setup in the near future. But anyways, your buddy has one cam in the block of his SS.

The LT5, which was in the fouth-gen 'Vette (C4) ZR1 from I think 90-95, was DOHC.

OHC are overrated I think mostly because of displacement limited racing classes and OHC is technically the "low tech" since they are an older basic design

pushrod is the way to go if you do not have displacement limits which street cars don't

and I think you just defended yourself against someone's signature... plus I don't think a crossfire that traps 106 could lift the wheels

last week, it was on a wednesday. There should have been a note on your windshield to let you know the "cam fairy" had stopped by.

Isn't part of the reason for a pushrod design is that you only need one cam on a V setup? What would the benefits of dual cams in block be? It isn't VVT since they can do that with a single cam, not saying they wouldn't try that just can't think of why...

how so? the valvetrain geometry would be a huge pain in the ***, ruining one of the major advantages of pushrods: their simplicity

can be overcome, but what would be the point?

This comming from someone that didn't know the LS1 only has a single cam. Which is really sad if you even try to consider yourself a car guy on any level. Chevy has been running the same pushrod tech on their performance V8's for so many years even the import guys know this. And your 12.9 Crossfire isn't lifting the front wheels. Go tell that **** to the honda boys, they will believe it.

If the guy told you that the car you outran was a dohc ss, then hes gay. I have a feeling the car you outran was a v6. I doubt your car would be outrunning many ss's. Especially those DOHC ones! haha

You actually bought a crossfire...did they run out of real cars at the dealership? That little thing gets its tune-ups at Toys 'R' Us

there was also a company making that style of head for SBFs a while back, hell it coulda been the same company. they broke things in the valvetrain alot and werent very good at all, especially for the money. hopefully they've gotten better.
