Newbie from IL
Hello all, just wanted to introduce myself. My name's Andy, I'm 31, and from central Illinois. I have been messing with project cars since I was 15 and consider myself reasonably adept mechanically. I owned a '99 Vette up until a couple years ago, so I'm not totally unfamiliar with the LSX, but it was just a bolt-on car, nothing major. I've also had a few pretty quick muscle cars over the years. I joined to get some tech insight for an upcoming project. My aunt is buying a new car so I'm going to buy her current high mileage '00 Z28. I have not completely decided on what I'm going to do with it, but I'm leaning towards a single turbo 370. I'm lucky to have several talented friends that share my gear-head compulsion. One's an ASE master tech, another is a boiler maker (great fab. guy, especially stainless), and another is a pro chassis builder, so pretty much anything I can't handle, I can get help with. As far as hobbies other than cars, I'm an obsessive bass fisherman, which takes up most of my free time. Project cars are my winter/rainy day hobby.

I go through that area quite a bit. I fish a lot on the Miss. river straight west of Galesburg. I probably drive right by you.
