Default T56 rebuild questions

Where is a good place to order parts for a rebuild? I'm not sure if I'm gonna get it built, or just a basic rebuild. I know where I'm gonna get it re-built, but I just need to order the parts. I'm new to the t56 so what parts do I need for either one? Any info is appreciated.

read the latest edition of SuperChevy Magazine. They have a whole article on re-building the T56 in a LS1 camaro. It's an excellent article.

A good place to start is to figure out what's out of spec. Pull the thing apart and inspect the parts, that'll tell you what you need to replace/rebuild. Obviously mileage on the trans has a lot to do with this. For a minimum rebuild you'll be looking at blocker rings, shift keys, and possibly shims.

Just to throw another option out there, D&D Performance is where I bought my parts from when I had my Fbody T56 rebuilt. No issues/breaks and they seem to have top quality parts. I've also had a pretty good experience so far with Six Speeds Inc on my GTO trans (it's still brand new and JUST recently broken in, so we'll see how it goes ).

Parts are parts . All of it is made from the same place .......... Tremec . The only parts that are not are after market parts like the bronze inserts and billet keys . G force supplies aftermarket gears and main shafts but thats about it .
