Default The work continues..(pics)

At this point I wish I could turn back time and avoid the gravel at Road Atlanta. I am starting to run out of time as I am way behind my schedule for the Winternationals in February. Here is what I got done this weekend. There is gravel and dirt in areas I never thought could get there.

I got under the car with a bucket and a large plastic pan and washed the underside up to the front suspension. Good thing its been a nice weekend as its hard not to get soaked. Water also goes everywhere in the garage. I also sanded and started polishing on the exhaust. Lots of work here to be done. I painted the heat shields in the rear with a high temp flat black so the polished exhaust will stand out better. Sanded the areas underside that was damaged from the stones and primed them. They will need more sanding and priming. This is not fun as it takes time to get it right. I guess thats it as this weekend is comming to an end. Looks like its going to be some late nights in the future to get this thing done in time.

Well, I am just lucky enough where I don't need to drive it as a daily and can leave it on stands for months at a time.
I live in Lake Lure, about 45min east of Hendersonville and 1 hour S.E. of Asheville.

Driving mine everyday keeps it far from how I want it , great work nonetheless. I love the Lake Lure area, my family and I used to go up to Chimney Rock all the time, its gorgeous.

Why Do You Worry So Much About Areas People Cant See? You Can Even Drive The Car Without Gitting It Dirty.

Why Do You Capitalize Every Single Word??? Damn that's annoying.

His car is a showcar. Judges look at every single nook and cranny.

True. In a 1000 pnt show, they look at everything from the underside for chips, dirt, dents, rust, and so on. They also look in the gas cap area, glove box, and the list goes on.

It also makes me feel good to show it off. Looking into mirrors in the future.

Well I took a few hours yesterday and a few today and continued work on the car. I hope by Sunday I can put some parts back on the car. Still have to work on the paint and polish some more. Here is the progress I made between work and turkey dinner.:thwink:

Single stage or base/clear on the underbody? Surface prep must be a real PITA. How do you do it, just lots of sanding and cleaning?
