It's that time of year again. Winternational prep has begun.
Most of you probibly don't know, but last year I took my time and posted my progress on getting ol Red ready for Orlando and the 1000 point show in February. All my hard work payed off as I scored a 998 out of a 1000 at the Winternationals in Orlando. Two weekes later, I took the SS to track days at Road Atlanta, like I do many times a year, and put it in the gravel in turn one. The rear end got a little loose as my big head was trying to keep in front of the faster Porche's. So after enjoying the summer with our new Sea Ray on the water, I really didn't have the time to start getting Red back into show condition. Well, with fall here and the boat in the garage, the SS has now become center stage. Here is what I have done so far and what parts are waiting for install. The underside took the worse damage, and the rest isn't as bad as it could have been.
So let me give the new members what the car looked like at the show.

So the detail begins. With my budget being something to consider, I was able to buy at least a few goodies for the winter. A UMI road racing K-member, a stainless air dam, and I will have to order a new 10 spoke wheel as one took the gravel rather bad.

So over the past week, the car has little room now as there is a Sea Ray next to it. Once it was up on the stands, the underside indeed looked pretty bad, like it was in the gravel.lol
Room in the garage is much tighter now with the boat and does make working on the SS a little more difficult.
Here is what the subframes look like and the underside. This is after several washes underneath.

So now the parts are comming off the car and sandblasting has begun on the rear, but ran out of sand. The suspension is off and being cleaned and buffed the best it can be, and the exhaust will be next this week. Once everything is off the underside, and the subframes are sanded and repainted, the new parts will go one as well as the others.
And the UMI LCA's and panhard bar faired well.

So I will post the progress this year as I get Red ready for the Winternations. If you guys are intersested, check the thread out as I will post pics as the car comes together.
As for the interior, that is one thing I did over the rainy days of the summer. It was full of gravel and grass as you have to have your windows down during track days. So it won't need as much time as the other stuff.
