Default can you bypass the vats?

i just want to get my engine runnin and it still has the vats programmed into the computer. if i just run the fuel pump off an igniton hot source, it should run no? i thought the vats justkept the ecu from turning on the fuel pump, or is there more to it?

I doubt that will work. As I understand it, the VATS disables the injector pulses so the pump might be bringing in fuel but the injectors won't shoot it in.

Yeah - it'll disable the injectors as well as the pump. You'll have to get a VATS bypass unit, or a simulator.

If you have HPT you can turn off the Vats. Had to do it on a buddies obs truck when we swaped a newer motor in.

Should be a plug for installing a bypass on your harness. Atleast my old 98 S&P harness had it.
