Updated pic of needle bearings from destroyed Rocker!
For those that think you can just clean out your oil pan after you have a roller rocker come apart like I did think again! After I pulled the motor and began tearing it down I was absolutely amazed to find that 4 needle bearings had found there way to splash around inside the motor and work their way up to above the camshaft and rest directly below the engine valley cover

Anyway, the shortblock is apart and new forged pistons will be on their way shortly

damn that sucks. did you know hotrod (i think) used YT's on a 700hp 383sbc? that solves any issues i had with the rockers.

i havent heard any thing long term...ill snag that hotrod and see what shop carries them, they would know. they spin that 383 to like 8500

Wow its amazing more damage wasn't caused as they could have got caught up in the cam if they had been just a few inches over!
