You gotta give it more time to circulate man, Saturday night and all.

$7k being the highest you'll spend: Do a nice LSx based engine and spray it. Add a new rear-end with good gears and some tranny work and you're there.

7 grand is a tight budget to beat a C6 Z06, if you must do FI...
Look into the nitrous section.
What you need to do is look into the Sticky and see "the real price..." That will give you an idea of what to look at.
IMO nitrous is the best way to go and thats spending all 7gs.

I think this should be moved to the Newbie tech, and post it as a general search...

So you want to pull a new ZO6? Thats a car weighing in at under 3200lbs and pushing a flywheel 505hp. You realize that, right?

Not to be offensive, but you sound pretty new to the power game.

My car is making about 506 flywheel and I couldn't pull one. You are definitely going to need forced induction on your car. You could do STS turbo system and 4.10s, but how streetable will that be? I did see one LS1 Camaro pulling around 480rwhp with the STS setup.

It would be much easier to set your sights on a C6. I think that would easily be within the pulling range if you do intake, exhaust, cam, and 4.10s.

(Or you could get an 03 Cobra and throw a Kenne Bell on it...I think you would pull it then! )

Full bolt-on, h/c swap, 3.xx or 4.xx gears, TH400, wheels and tires, and a MASSIVE weight reduction, that might do it.
imo like i said 7g isnt enough for FI.

First off, do a search. Beating a Z06 means you're going to need a setup capable of running high 10s (or mid 11s with no traction, lol)...trapping 130+ to really be able to beat one decently. Do people build cars like that for $7k? Sure, but they aren't "daily drivable".

You will not be able to do an FI setup making that kind of power for that kind of money, at least definitely not reliably. Hell, for the heads/cam+nitrous setup...

Patriot heads = $1100
MS3 cam + necessary parts/gaskets = $1000
Shortblock = $3000-4000 depending on parts/builder
Headers/exhaust = $800+
LS6 intake = $300 (for this setup, a FAST90 would be beneficial...$1000+)
Full nitrous kit, buying everything new and a controller and such = $1000+
Fuel setup = $700+ for Racetronix kit and injectors

That's well over $7k there without a tune, no suspension mods, no upgraded transmission/converter (both of which you'll definitely need), no rear end, no chassis work, no tires, no safety equipment, etc.

I'll have almost $25k into my car (aside from purchase price) by next season, and I'm finally going to be running 10's and trapping high 130s. Granted, if I was an auto (or if I could drive worth a damn), I'd have been there this year with my heads/cam/nitrous (119mph w/o the 125-shot).

Do some search, there are so many variables that play into everything.
To get an idea i am thinking some AFRs or ETP heads.
Weld racing wheels, MT tires.
12-bolt rearend.
Theres a start, do some search on here because there is guys a lot more knowledeable people here than me.

With that kind of budget you could do a decent amount of modding but you'll easily go over that budget due to making sure that you have the supporting i.e. tranny, rearend, bottom end, etc.

Used D1SC Procharger Kit, new or used STS Turbo Kit w/GT67 Upgrade
Racetronix Fuel System
Mototron 60lb injectors
MSD Voltage Boost-a-pump
Snow Performance Methanol/Water Injection system
Yank 3600 stall
Pacesetter Longtubes w/ TSP Catted Y-pipe or ORY
Boost/Vacuum Gauge
Tranny Temp Gauge
AEM Wide band
Patriot Express LQ9 Heads
Custom FI Cam
Moser 12 Bolt Rearend

This is just the beginning because you'll also need to address your bottom end, tranny and suspension

Either Procharger or STS kit with a stall, proper fuel system, with heads & cam and methanol/water injection kit should be able to take care of that.

dude...a stall and a 200+ shot plus bolt ons and a cam will get you there...

all could be done for about 3k...then your tranny will go and that will cost ya 1500 to get built then youll be good to go....if your goana race one it will prolly be from a roll so keep stock gears...youll break 3.73 and up anyways....

get a GOOD BRAND EFFICIENT converter...like a yank
