Default advice on tires

currently i have 285/40/17 BFG KDW on the rears and they are good and wore out so im wondering about what i should get for my next set...

someone recommended to me 275/40/17 KDW NT (the ones with the "flame" tread and said they hook better than the traditional tread ones i have now)

the ones i have now worked pretty good for me, got me many 1.8X's 60's but later this week i am putting 4.10s in my car and am worried about taction as the 3.73s break those tires loose pretty much on command right now

i just wnated ur guys advice, everytime i talk to someone at a tire store or someplace they tell me that a tire with 30o treadwear is "waaay to stick and too much of a tire for my car, i mean its just a camaro its not some high horsepower drag car...." then i inform them that the car has been 12.40's and they shut the hell up

I have some 275/40/17 sumitomo Hrtz II tires and are very good for 430 dollars shipped. they have a good looking tread pattern, hook really good in dry summer weather, are a little slippery in wet winter weather but not any worse than the potenzas i had on it before. they will wear a little faster than most tires though

i would recommend them for sure, unless you have alot more money to spend.
