Default '06 LQ9 - Cruise Control w/ETC - Indicator

Greetings!

How are you getting an ENGAGED indication on your Cruise Control with an '06 LQ9 (Gen III 6.0L) using ETC?

Many thanks!

Default engaged?

My car usually just goes the same speed I set it at, with foot off accelerator pedal. Pretty good indication its engaged! LOL, sorry, couldn't resist. Are you asking about like a dash light indication or something?

The cruise engaged signal(lamp) is derived from serial data sent to the instrument cluster via the pcm and TAC module.

I'd like to buy a vowel... (I'm not using an OE instrument cluster.)

What would I read from the PCM (i.e. What pins) and the TAC to create the trigger?

Thanks.

There is not a way to reproduce the engaged signal. When that signal is sent to the pcm and the instrument cluster it is a digital signal sent over the databus. The pcm nor the tac module send out an analog signal when the cruise sets. The only way as such you could do it but it is not accurate, is to tap the gray wire from the cruise stalk. However, the indicator will then light anytime the slider on the cruise stalk is in the on position. But this will not be entirely accurate because the indicator will then be on regardless of whether cruise is actually set and holding a road speed or it is off.

I am thinking that I can build a circuit like this one from the 12V Guy. The idea would be to use the input from the Cruise On as the power (Red) feed and the Set/Accel and Coast/Resume switches (With diodes) to serve as the (Green) trigger. By tying the brake switch into the ground on the second (right side) relay, I can interrupt the ground (Black) circuit and turn off the light.
