Unhappy Procharger pulley size question????? Need Help

I have a 98 Camaro with a D1SC on it. I am not sure which pulley is on it now. But it only makes around 5 pounds of boost. Would like to be between 8-10 pounds. Which pulley should I get to achieve this? Also where is the best place to get it? I also need a new belt, which brand do you suggest to get?
Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks,
Criss

You will need a 4.25" pulley to make the 8-10psi of boost depending on the rev limiter and exhaust setup.

A belt would be a NAPA or Gates Green stripe belt and you will need a K080408 belt, at napa its known as a 25-080408.

My car has a full 3 inch exhaust. It has a ORY, Dynatech oval Race muffler, over the axel and out like duals. I don't think the car has a set Rev limiter. Or I may just not turn it that hard. I will turn the car between 6000 and 6500 rpm. How much can I get the pulley from you guys for?

I appreciate the help. I called ProCharger and didn't get much help.

Thanks,
Criss

The pulleys are $85+sh , they do not require a special tool but they can be stubborn some times. I use a 2 jaw puller when they are stuck and it pulls them off every time. Use a blue or red locktite on the pulley bolt to ensure it does not back out.

Last question. Forgot to ask. Would 8-10 pounds of boost be safe on stock bottom end?

Thanks,

With meth injection you can run more, but we like to see 7-8psi and around 500-525rwhp for longevity.

I am not sure if you are aware of this, so I will throw it out there. Make sure the tune you have will be ok with the extra boost. You dont want to run it lean.

With a cam and 7 it would be a great increase. I highly suggest getting your car onto a dyno to have it re-tuned for more power and to optimize it for the new cam's drivability.

Oh, the car will be on the dyno with a tuner the first time it shows boost. I will drive it just to make sure the kinks are worked out, but I am not going to get on it until I have it monitored. me=wimp with stock bottom end.....although my tune looks real conservative on timing....and the a/f was nice and flat...

Keep in mind the blower pulley that Jake suggested you go with is only if your D-1SC is an eight rib kit. A six rib crank pulley is smaller which requires smaller blower pulleys to make boost. Bob

I think the one on my car is a 6 rib. Not the 8. Which one will I need with it? Also wihich belt will I need? I am sure it is different also.

Thanks,

SBP

Exotics website has belt requirements. They were wrong for my 3.70" pulley, but regardless, the first thing is to go count the number of ribs on your current setup....

For a six rib it would probably be in the 3.75" neighborhood.

There ya go. The 6 rib with 3.70" pulley says a 36.5" belt, and turned out to be a 37.0", so you just have to test and make sure. Thank god they are not that hard to swap out!

They go on tight, are you sure you couldn't of rolled it on? Blower belts stretch and need retightened after an hour of break-in. Bob
