Default Mild Cam for an A4 with standard converter?

I am presently planning to buy ported heads and a mild cam for my LS1 2001 Holden SS & was wondering what type of cam you would suggest. This car has an automatic transmission (A4 460L) with a standard converter. As it is a daily driver in heavy traffic I am not planning to replace the converter with a higher RPM stall type. The car already has many bolt on mods & I have tuned it using LS1Edit to achieve a current peak power output of over 300 HP at the back wheels with the factory cam.

My objectives from the new set-up are:

1. Increase torque and power in the mid to upper speed range.

2. Increase peak power output to about 330 HP at the back wheels (~ 10% higher than now).

3. Still remain a daily street driver so it needs to idle OK and run with the standard auto’s converter.

What I am wondering is the following:

a) Which cam profile would be best to achieve the above goals?
b) Which valve springs would be recommended?

Many thanks

Acer

honestly, a mild converter will give u more performance increase than a mild cam... something with a 2800 stall and a 2.5str, will feel just like stock after about 10 minutes, and will give u .4sec in the 1/4 mile... as for a mild cam, go with a comp 216/220-.524/.529-114... with ported heads, that cam will get u about 375rwhp...

Once you get going you will want more power..... trust me. Get a good stall and a nice cam. 370HP and 407TQ at the wheels is a blast!!!

Lingenfelter GT2-3 and a Vig 2800 would be very streetable. Even if you don't want a converter, this cam will still idle better than stock w/o any tuning. Specs: .571/.578 207/220 118.5 LSA. You will need hardened push rods, and springs. LPE uses the Comp 918s, but I'm using the Manleys and Ti retainers.
