Carb'd 5.3l cam opinon
What do you guys think of this cam for a
5.3l converted to carb going into a prostreet 64 studeabaker.
Basically stock other than a cam/spring swap,
and using the MSD 6010, and performer rpm intake.
2500-3000 converter, 3.73 gears
ls6 springs, adv. 272-276, @.050 216-220, .544, .544 lift, 110LSA
Spec'd by cammotion.
Small? OR Just right since this is not a 10.5:1 5.7l, only a 9.5:1 5.3l?

that oughta put you right around 340hp. I have a tr220-114 in my carbed 5.3 and have had several other people tell me i should be right around 350hp, your 110lsa will work better with a carb too. I have heard of gains of ~30hp from just the intake alone. Unfortunatly i cant give you any rock solid facts as mine isnt running yet, but i did lots of reading, research and talking to people before i put it together. Im pretty confident that it should make the number.

I am hoping for a nice broad power band, and the owner is hoping for a nice choppy idle......I may have to pull some timing out at idle speed to get the lope he is after.
