Default wrecked my 98

***updates on rebuild page***

many updates now on the rebuild page

https://ls1tech.com/forums/paint-body-work/845377-project-mystic-z.html

i was coming home one night from circleville and going around a continuous right turn at a traffic light and when i went to merge left i hit a slick spot and the *** end started to come around the passengers side way, so i got out of it and it came back but insted of biting and going straight it came around the other way and did a nose dive right into a guard rail. its not as bad as it looks, it moved the core support about 6 inches back and crushed the battery, ASR module and coolent tank. destroyed the radiator. thank God it went under the guard rail, cause it didnt get the bumper horns. if it did it probably would have set the air bags off. but it put the passengers inner fender part of the unibody at a 90 degree angle. i drove it home about 10 miles stopping about every 5 minutes to let it cool off. sad day.

the insurace company totaled it and i bought it back. i got my car +6600 to work with. i got a donor car lined up for 1k with everything but a motor and tranny, so im going to take what i need off it and part the rest out. probably make some money off it. H/C/I and some other go fast **** are in the books along with a good clutch and a 12bolt and a rebuilt tranny.

Wow!,.. That really sux! I had to rebuild mine 6-7 months back after a DD hit it. Mine has a Salvage Tittle now. Hey,.. If the other car has a blk interior then I'll buy the center console flap. I leaned too hard on mine and snapped it in 2!

yep, had to Ace Ventura it out the window to see where i was going cause the hood was buckled too far up to see out the windshield.

had to stop about every 5 minutes or so to let it cool down cause the radiator is busted

Damn that sucks bro.

If I were you Id take the money and part that one out, buy another. That car needs some work man. I dont think is going to be as easy as you might think. Not to mention it will have a salvage title in the end. Just a thought.

Man really, I remembered your car when I saw who posted this! I had an accident in mine, same kind of thing, got caught in the rain and yeah....

Looking back I'm still not sure which way to go. I ended up rebuilding it and I'm still not completely satisfied with it. If you are OCD or want a nice street car, I'd say go get a new one. The key thing here is that you are already motivated to fix it and that is what happened with me. My brain just said, okay I'm doing this and I never looked back. I'd go with the first instinct.

It will come out just fine. Put it back together like you want.
