ls1 durability
i am purchasing a 2000 z28 with 121,000 miles. doesnt burn oil. would you trust bottom end strength doing ls6 heads and ms4 cam set-up? and possibly 150 shot direct port nitrous?

A compression and leakdown test will tell you what you need to know.
And heads/cam/nitrous on any stock bottom end is not recommended if you want it to live for a while. can it be done? Has it been done? Sure it has. Have people cracked ringlands and spun bearings trying this? Definately a big YES to that one too.

If you're going to get the full potential (or very close to it) out of that donkey dick cam, you're gonna have to spin that motor to the moon (probably upwards of 6,700RPM) and the stock bottom end won't support that for long. As for the spray, I wouldn't, especially not regularly and not a 150 shot. Wait untill u can get a forged bottom end, THEN spray it... hell, then you'll have upgraded rod bolts and be able to spin the motor as high as the MS4 will require for max power.

I would say the bottom end on a motor chasing the MS4's peak would be less durable than one shifting at 6600 or so instead of 7. You could upgrade rod bolts but H/C and spray would put you on borrowed time.
