Wiring question.... I have my nitrous system components (opener,heater,and purge) running off of a relay. The ignition lead off of the relay is connected to the "Acc" post in the front fuse box in the engine bay. The heater does not turn on but everything else does. Why? I have looked over the system and everything is intact. Any help here?

Re: Wiring question.... What kind of heater is it? Some run with a thermostat, so if its not cold enough it won't turn on. Others run with a pressure sensor and only come on when bottle pressure is below a certain psi.

Re: Wiring question.... It is setting at 900 psi cold....the NX is operated by pressure and is supposed to run from 950 to 1050. I wonder if there is a conflict with the gauge and sensor???

Re: Wiring question.... Take a multimeter and check the continuity of the pressure transducer on the bottle heater. That would be easier than taking everything apart...

Re: Wiring question.... Don't have access to one of those.....what if I placed a piece of metal across the poles. Would that in effect bypass the transducer?

Re: Wiring question.... You can get a cheap multimeter at the hardware store or Kmart Wal mart for $10-15 dollars. It is a hell of a lot easier to troubleshoot electrical problems. I wouldn't risk shorting anything, it will only tell you yes or no when it comes to current flow.

Re: Wiring question.... I ended up just putting a bag of ice on the bottle to get the pressure down some. Still not heating... I did take a screw driver and placed across the poles on the transducer and no evidence of power. The switch is powering up so I know power is there... Is it common for a transducer to go "bad"?
I have the relay that powers everything connected to the 10 amp "Acc" slot in the fuse box....this should not hender anything....should it?

Re: Wiring question.... I used to. It is now running to the relay. When it was hooked directly to the battery, it would drain it if I let her set over time.

Re: Wiring question.... Well, just got back and used a test light to let me know what's up.....I may have to move this to the electrical forum, because this is kinda weird.
I tested the transducer with switch on an got a signal on both poles. I was like wtf? I did feel good about seeing that power was there....but get this....the flippin' heater works now. All I did was test and now it works.
I got a freakin' ghost or I am losing my mind. I will test again tomorrow before I post this...that makes no sense as to why it works just by a test.
