Default Smallest 315s

Are the Sumitomos the smallest 315 in a 17??? In pics they seem smallish compared to other 315 tires, or are there other ones comparable?? How much smaller are they?

Nittos are the smallest. They are comparable to 275s in width.

I just measured my 315 nittos and they were ~12.25" wide if that helps.

Thanks guys, every bit of info helps. I was just wondering because I recently ordered a pair for some 10.5 wheels and was hoping they would look okay.

This issue of mounting 315 tires on a stock 9 inch wide rim will not be discussed....as discussed in the sticky above ^.

Really??, is that with typical DD driving?? What kind of mileage do you think you got out of them? Maybe that's part of the reason they are priced the way they are.

LILWS6, if mine end up looking half that good on my red '98 'Bird, I will be very happy.

Yeah its a shame really. I mean I can never get an honest answer as to why threads get locked when talking about tires the same size as 275s on a 9 inch wheels. Nitto can say they are that size all they want to but at the end of the day they really aren't.

I don't see a problem putting them on stock wheels but to avoid the thread getting locked that is all I will say.

Ok I got curious so I measured my stock 275's and their ~10.25" wide vs. a 12.25" Nitto. So their not even close to the same width.

Why is it a shame?? The HONEST answer is in the Sticky. . . . ALL manufacturer's recommend specific wheel and tire size combos.

Plain and simple, 315's require a 10.5" or wider wheel.

What is so hard to understand that?

Discussing the 315 on a 9" wide wheel is DANGEROUS. If you want to be ignorant and disregard manufacturer recommendations, and put the risk into your own hands then fine, but I will not tollerate recommending it to anyone.

Period.
