Our between racing season upgrades :)
Well after having a few near miss incidents, we decided to focus a little more on the safety and durability side of things. We were over due actually. We also have a new power plant being built for the Blue Turd and there's no way we would pass tech if we run any where near what we are anticipating.
We added a new narrowed Strange 12 bolt with a little more gear. It has some weight saving and strength enhancements along with a set of Strange brakes.
We took the car to Bill Buck in Austin to have him install a custom CM 10 point cage for us. He and his crew did an awesome job. The front bar is way forward and hugs the trim line so it's not intrusive, he added a custom window net that can be tucked away and won't get in the way as you climb in and out and he added some of his personal touches that ya just need to see in person to appreciate.
While it was there we had the battery relocated and an emegency kill switch added. He built a trick custom aluminum box and ran the rod through our rear bowtie. The rod can be removed and a plug can be installed for stealth mode . He also added custom tiedowns for when we trailer the car to racing events. We actually managed to drop some decent weight and distribute some weight to our advantage.
I still have a good bit of trim work to do since I just got it back. I'll replace the carpet and install the kick panels in a few days, but I so pumped I just had to share. I got the car back in the time it was promised even though I kept adding to the to-do list. I am hoping we can get Bill to become a sponsor here soon.
I'll get pics of the car with the new Bogarts up soon and some better pics of the cage. It was dark and I still need to do some trim work.
It's ready for project "Mo Pump Gas Powa"

Thanks everyone. Yeah it's a bit over the top for your average daily driver, but even with the 10 point cage in it, streetability was a primary focus during the recent changes. I doubt we'll put 20K miles a year on it, but the car shows Galveston type cruises you can count us in.
We did drop some weight, but as the car sits now with the added weight from the new safety components and reduction of some weight in the process of the changes, it's not life altering. There just some things we didn't want to give up still.
I expect the car to go some low 9.8s in good air with this current engine and converter.
The new engine set up potential is another story. That's if we can make all come together before the racing season starts.
I don't want a to be like a Pro quarterback having shoulder surgey a week before the Super Bowl. It's gonna roll!
