It was a good sized bike with big round exhaust on each side but it was up really high right under the seat area. 75 is absolutely the worst starting speed for me due to my shift points... I think I could take this bike from a 30 roll no problem.

75 put you at the bottom of 3rd? That is a shitty place to start from in the autos.

Yeah, second to third shift at 90, but at 75 it never downshifts to 2nd. I think it may have been Josh that used to have a fast z because he lives in the area where the race occurred. I here he has a black cbr1000 and the pics I've looked up for those look identical to what I ran.

On the other hand, a friend just came by to let me measure the frame mounts on his 06 and i guess the mounts changes between 03 and 04. Ill be ordering them in the morning from the dealer.

He only runs 1/8 mile this was his 1st time in 1/4. He has a minor problem he ran out of fuel pump on the big end. He has little Holley blue with -6 lines pulling out the top of the tank. Its ok for 1/8 but not for 1/4. his 60ft and 1/8 mile was a tenth slow he went 6.3 and 10.08@135mph all motor 100% street car on 275/60 street radials!

Oh yeah. I remember him clearly believe it or not. Hate to say it, only cause ashley hated his rims lol.. But yeah. I may even have a pic, I have to go back through and see if I got a pic of him in action. But I clearly remember the car. Ashley said it reminded her of when I had gold daytons on my little low rider about 10 yrs ago

yup that him. It a 408ci iron 6.0 block with trick flow heads, powerglide, 9" all the goodies. He normally cuts 1.3 60ft all day long but on that track it was 1.4's hes 1/8th mph was down from 109 to 107 :( i told it was his tune setup. His car was setup for sea level not Kentucky and he wasn't going to adjust the carb. Her is a few of my vids of it

Watching all the cars made me remember how fun it was to drive mine. Just a few more months and mine will be all the way together. I've been buying up parts about every 2 weeks. All I am waiting on now is a 370ci shortblock and it'll at least be able to go down the road again. All the parts are here to make it go again. I just dont wanna install the trans and stall only to pull it again in another month to install another motor in front of it. I really just assume wait. I've waited soooo long I figure a few more weeks wont hurt anything to get it rolling pretty hard before I put the rest of the goodies on I got for it

Glad you had fun. You're right. I love the BMW and Volvo engine swaps. I think all cars should have LSx engines in them. The Suzuki Samuri LSx made me happy. I bet that's a blast to drive.

Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone had any idea about a problem I'm having... A few weeks ago, I got a code for high voltage in the intake air tempature sensor. After searchign around and such, I decided the easiest thing to do is just have a dealership replace it. Had that done for $70 or so, and the SES came back on the next day. If the sensor has been replaced... What else could be wrong? I'm at a stump, and I can't get my car to function correctly if my life depended on it...

Still having issues with rear suspension clunks and creaks, and hood allignment too :(

I ran out of day light :( I miss my tools and garage :( I broke the shock bolts loose with a 4way that's a new low LMAO! only have torq arm bolts, PHB and lca left. cleaned the sway bar,drive shaft,springs as i was taking them off. My rear drag wheels r 4sale! 15x9 6.5" backspacing. They were $400 new i would take $300obo in damn good shape and are goung to get a fresh polish b4 they go. im going to need a 15x10 5" back spacing with new rear end.

you do not have use spacer! You do not need new longer wheel studs and you do not have to grind anywhere close to what you would have to with welds and other wheels.

Wow, didn't expect anyone to respond so soon... lol went along and played a bit of the new Halo, if I saw this earlier I'd have swung by.

I would like to do all my own work, and I always attempt to... I have limited tools here in LA though, been buying little things here and there as I need them, but money is a constraint as of late, that and I'm an amateur learning little by little as I go along. Most things I've done to my car was done back in NY when I was on leave using tools at my parents house, with the help of more knowledgable friends. As for the sensor, couldn't find anyone that had it for sale other than a dealer, and from what I understand it required sodering and such, which I don't have the tools for.

And yes, I recognised your camaro when you drove by Hoban Hall. I work at 93rd/11th Intel in that little building accross the street from that parking lot.

Oh and no I hear no scratching or straining noise when popping the headlights. Just the usual clunk when they go down.

On the T/A headlights, it's prolly a bad gear. I've read on here that some guys take it off and flip it to use the side with the good teeth left on it or they are replacing them with some brass gears. They had an article in GMHTP about it and there is a thread on here somewhere.

I just pulled my rear out! Anyone want a10 bolt cheap!!!!! TCS ABS Rear, Its the housing, Axles, gears and posi missing some spider gears teeth! Will throw in a T/A dif cover that will need some minor alu tig welding. LOL A bolt cam lose b4 and cracked the cover good and i had it welded back and then i had another bolt come loose and crack it again lol but it was small i and i put some RTV on it and didnt leak lol.

Damn dude, at least they're solid now. Did you ever figure out why they were backing out?

have no clue! 1st time 2 bolts backed out and broke off and didnt hurt anything and it was all original. So i pulled it apart and i got the broke bolts out and put new grade 8 bolts with locker washers and loctite. The other 2 bolts were not loose i checked. So i just put back together. Well 3k miles later it did it again the other stock bolt was only one bolt so i took apart again and fixed the bolt and when a head and did the other stock bolt while i was at it. So it had all new 4 grade 8 bolts with lock washers and red LT. Then i drove for a few months and went from here to florida for one of my best friends was kit and kill by drunk driver. Well while i was down there after a few donuts and burnouts for him i herd a pop again and one of my bolt backed out and broke WTF! So i tac weld them and left the one bolt out just to get the car back home. What sucks is this was the only time some metal got into some gears and took some teeth off the spider gears.

alright guys, got the car cranked and got it ldling like a champ thanks to Greg McBride. Now don't criticize yet because I haven't cleaned the engine bay up yet. I just pulled it off jack stands 10 minutes ago. It's a head/cam/intake TA with a vertical radiator mount.

It's just a ls1 but I'd be lieing if I said I wasn't planning for the future. Let me know when you do it because we've done 2 so far and have a pretty good idea of how to do it...Both we kept the AC. We fabbed everything in the carport to make it work. We created enough clearance to fit a 91mm turbo on marks car.

I remember the "old days", when you wanted to watch a show, you made time to watch it. If I had a DVR, there would be a couple shows I would program it for. That being said, I will never own one. let me know if ya want some help on install lol. Ive been under my car the last 2 days cleaning and painting the bottom of my car lol 130k+ miles so it was nasty. has some kind of factory undercoating on it. yesterday to bottles of simple green and brush then rinse. Today semi gloss black paint.

That stock torque arm aint gonna hold up to a 9 inch abuse. You gonna need an upgrade :nod: Little perk of having a 6 speed. Autos can ass rape with 10 bolts. :jest:

ive got many 1.6 60fts with it and those are orginal shocks to! dont no how they are still good! I pushed on them and the yare still good lol! but yeah going from 3.42s to 4.30's i going to kill it! My alu drive-shaft will be next lol

Not completely true. I have a stack of high 1.5 slips on a stock T/A, stock driveshaft, 10 bolt in 4 different 6 speed cars. 3 broken 9" but never broke a driveshaft, t/a or a 10 bolt.

That's not always true. I been trying to kill mine for years and it won't die. Two stalls and two motors, and it's still kicking........We will see how it handles the third engine. Maybe it'll finally give up.

have no clue! 1st time 2 bolts backed out and broke off and didnt hurt anything and it was all original. So i pulled it apart and i got the broke bolts out and put new grade 8 bolts with locker washers and loctite. The other 2 bolts were not loose i checked. So i just put back together. Well 3k miles later it did it again the other stock bolt was only one bolt so i took apart again and fixed the bolt and when a head and did the other stock bolt while i was at it. So it had all new 4 grade 8 bolts with lock washers and red LT. Then i drove for a few months and went from here to florida for one of my best friends was kit and kill by drunk driver. Well while i was down there after a few donuts and burnouts for him i herd a pop again and one of my bolt backed out and broke WTF! So i tac weld them and left the one bolt out just to get the car back home. What sucks is this was the only time some metal got into some gears and took some teeth off the spider gears.

Some may already know this, I didn't until just the other day. For all those who are running catch cans or are thinking about running one, consider switching to the LS6 PCV set-up. Basically instead of running all the valve cover inlets, a total of 3, one still hooks to the intake to get vacuum, but the other two that traditionally dump the excess oil into the intake pull from the valley instead of the valve covers. The LS6 specific valley cover has a catch can of sorts built in to the underside of it. So you dont have to run an external catch can, also, the cost of the LS6 valley cover is less then most quality catch cans.

I'm replacing every part of this hot tub.
Pump, air pump, filter, heater, plumbing, jets, lighting, air control valves, and control unit.

I'm going with a digital control unit
replacing the 1.5 hp pump with a 4.0 hp pump
installing LED lighting
replacing the original 7 large jets with modern, "twin jets" that turn automatically
Installing an additional 17 jets, for 24 total jets
redoing all the plumbing, getting rid of the old "in series" setup, going with 4 manifold setups
installing an ozonator
spraying on additional insulation

It should be pretty nice.

Ok found my pos. battery cable loose.When I tightened it up I striped it.Tried to drive it to the parts house but on the way it started cutting out and went dead......I installed a new battery then found out I fried the alternator.I had it rebuilt today and it wont charge??? The guy that rebuilt it tried it on the tester before I left with it so I know the alt. is good.The car is a 2000 z28.! big wire +1 little wire....thanks

Little wire has to show 12v+ when the key is on to tell the alternator to turn on. I believe its called the exciter wire. Its a direct line to the computer.

You should verify it is getting 12v+ was what I was getting at.

ok....got 9.45 going into the plug w/the key on....when i stick the prob in the front side of the plug 0.0 .Then if i wiggle the wire I get voltage to the front side of the plug.I think the wire is broke inside the plug.As 4 the 9.45 reading not sure if i have the metter set right.....i got it on DCV @ 20.0.....can i take the plug apart ???

My last race was against Josh R. in Mexico and I lost by about 1 or 1/2.
Second to last race was about 6 months ago to an unknown TA and I won that one, as we approached triple digits on the outskirts of Mexico, I was about to start putting bus lengths on him then we had to shut it down bc of traffic. I think he was stock. Last one before that was too long ago to remember.:chug:

I was up against this old man with his supercharged Scooter....I had the pull of the dig but once his battery went into overdrive he started pulling on me...I would've sucked up the distance but we were in the pasta aisle and we were coming up on the frozen food section in walmart and had to shut it down...

I don't know of any local cruise nights that are a regular thing, but I have been comtemplating asking everyone on here if they wanted to start meeting up on a certain night weekly or every other week somewhere just meet/eat and hangout. Good chance for everyone to get to know each other and check out some cars. It wouldn't be limited to just people on here really. Any day is good for me right now except tuesdays. I go back on nights in november so it would be an every other week for me then. Anybody have any ideas? I'd really like to do a two day cruise to anywhere with a overnight stay somewhere then come back the next day. Just to get away and chill somewhere different.

That going in or out? if its going in i lube the hell out cams b4 i install them. especially if they are not going to be running in a day or to. If its just a quick cam swap i just oil it down because it will be running soon. If its a motor build and it can be a while i lube it up good! it looks a little dry other then the 1st cam bearing. only reason i say this is because ive had friends wipe out some cam bearings from not lubing enough.

Then they moved to Pine Valley and everyone there was so glad to have them running their track. I remember standing in the staging lanes talking to one of the locals down there and he was bragging about having them run their track. I told him in two years their track would be gone too, and he laughed at me. Well it's been almost two years and guess what? PVR is closed down after the Halloween race.. Any one who has ever been to PVR knows it is in a great location so guess that excuse is gone. Hate to say I told you so.

I don't have any complaints about the Halls running any track. I just attended the IHRA Bracket Finals for TRRP this past weekend and it was no where NEAR as good as when Ken and Molly ran it.

There was nothing organized about it (TRRP and Hometrack Manager wise). If you ever did any IHRA/Pro Am stuff then you would know what I'm talking about. Usually we set the stands up with a catchy theme for the track for "track spirit" and all kinds of fun things. This year the track only took maybe a total of 20 cars? We we're the smallest team there.

There's just so many tracks in one area in the DIV 4. and so many people can't afford to go out and support the different tracks now. I remember when a bunch of the Dallas are used to come to Thunder Road as well as the Monroe bunch.

Money got tight and they stayed closer to home. Luckily I'm in between Prescott, AR and "Thunder Road".

I support BOTH tracks and switch from track to track every other weekend.

I think the Halls will do better than the current manager at Dallas. I heard some VERY BAD opinions (From a bracket racers view) in the staging lanes from people that race there every weekend.

Some guy said that Dallas Raceway was 90% TNT and they had cancelled the last three bracket races for no reason.

Can anyone on here press my axle bearings on for me?

I can check with the guys at the shop and see if they can do it. They are always rebuilding axles for 4x4s and dirt track cars.

35 spline moser axles. i mean they have a press on base ive just never press them on b4. I know its simple but just wanna make sure.

I thought it was always held somewhere else on base past few years? Stripes parking lot is really small, how do they expect to do a car show? I also so the entry classes, and they don't seem to have a competing class for our f-bodies. :( And what happened to the annual on base auto-x? It usualy coincided with the car show at the end of OCT.

maybe the will used the parking a lot across the street too? I was thinking that to. Im taking my cars to show just to go. my cars isnt no show car lol to many dings,chips and scratches lol

I'm glad to help any time I can. If you need some help on the rear let me know. It's pretty straight forward but an extra hand is always nice to have.

Four old sensors, next to the last new one about to go in. I labeled them because 3 of them seem to be working fine. The code was bank 2 sensor 2.

The hardest one to reach was the driver's side front one. A driveshaft is in the way.

Then it was spark plug time.

I started on the passenger side.

I removed the air box and assembly, up to the MAF.

I looked at the MAF, it looks clean and I'm out of MAF cleaner. I simply put it back on when the time came.

Replacing the wires, "A" goes to "A", "B" goes to "B".

I kept the wires in order, but if I hadn't, the longer one goes to the plug that's further away from the coil.

Torqued to 19 ftlbs.

Well i got the car Wednesday drove 45 out side of Memphis and stopped @ forest city Ar. got up started home stopped in Malvin Ar and the damn pass lock screwed up got lucky it was just the key $92 to find out what it was then 25 per key typical stealership got home around 2 pm Thursday when out my buddy location were he was working and hooked it up to his Hp tuner ran a log after we dicked around trying to get it to hook on the nitto's 555 the not the R's which was gay but it was ok, stall it to 2k give it a tuch more gas and it will start to hook around 30 mph then it broke loose in the 1-2 shift but still laid down 4.2 0-60 then had a knock in 3rd it pulled 6 deg of timing -_-!!! Well we broke out the wide ban O2 censer and it was running lean didnt pay the 100 to tune it yet still got to get it registered so it can wait for now because the car is just a toy, but all in all it was good gonna get the nitto nt05r's soon go no track time until better tires and the fuel adjustments heres a short vid of my mom driving it lol
