Default Speed Secrets satifies another customer!

I picked my car up from Ellis today. It was a pleasant surprise to see Doug there working on a car. Took the car for a drive to check how it feels with the new cam/springs/rods. It felt really smooth. After driving it home I have to say that this GT2-3 cam actually feels smoother than the stock cam through the low-mid range. Above 4,500 rpm, where the stock cam starts to let off this one just keeps going strong and smooth all the way to my new 6,800 red line. I am looking forward to getting to the track and making a few passes.

Well done Ellis and crew!

BTW, Ellis, did you mention having a couple of pics? Could you either post them up, or e-mail them to me? Thanks!

Nice.....cams really wake these cars up! The GT2-3 makes a ton of power considering how stock it sounds.

Sadly if my out-of-town stints continue the way I think they are going to (2 weeks @ home, 2 weeks in Florida, 2 in Germany & then satart over) my car might end up over at Ellis' if I want to get it finished before summer.

I might have to come up after the engine is out and touch up the engine bay, or maybe get someone up there to do it? I left some scratches they need to be re-painted but I was thinking of maybe a very light orange pearl over it as well to match the intake..lol
I've got a small spray gun I just bought, its pretty cute..lol holds about a 3/4 pint

sorry for

Lets hear a sound clip or vid?

I've heard some good things about those guys. I've even thought about taking my car there.

Why don't you just issue a couple flashlights with each jet. Problem solved.

wow 6800 redline with a GT2-3? Not that I am doubting Ellis's work or anything but that cam has such a low duration i doubt you are needing it that high, my GT2 won't make power past 5800 an definitely won't make torque past 5500 but you are right, it is an awesome mid range cam. just my .02

Based on a friend's dyno graph with nearly identical setup to mine I should be ~350rwhp with peak power at ~6200rpm. I did the math and the ideal shift point for drag racing is ~6500.(point where declining torque = torque in next gear) It pulls all the way to the 6800 limiter. My friend has his limiter at 7k and says ~6800 is where he notices the power start to let off. I'm looking forward to getting to the track, but it won't be 'till March at the earliest.
