Default high milage ls1

my engine has over 145k(odometer broke)and i'm want h/c after i get other stuff done.do i have too many miles to add h/c?

Forged short blocks are cheap and a nice foundation for your future upgrades. I would at least take a look at those options. I'd hate to do all the h/c work only to have bottom failures shortly thereafter. Just my thoughts. Good luck.

+1 for what noah89 said. It IS a risk, however; It all depends on what kind of life your car has had. People underestimate how i important oil changes are...anyway its been proven that our cars (well the aluminum thing between the mounts) haha will easily do 200K+ its all how you maintain them! Good luck with whatever path you take!

a bddy of mine has a 98 ta that had like 190K on his and hes looking at doing a GM hot cam.

i installed MTI's V1 cam at 165k and just had trickflow heads installed this weekend with 170k...car is a beast, runs great and doesnt burn any oil.

id say go heads and cam now, then you can swap that stuff over when you blow up the block.

I didmy MS4 and prc heads at 130k and spu it to 7k for about 3 months and spun a rod bearing. so it all depends on what cam it is. a block with that many miles on it is not going to like a high winding cam. it just wont last long like that...trust me.
