Default crane 10308-1 springs

anyone install these and have interferance problems with there roller rockers? just replaced my hotcam springs with these springs and the retainer is much larger on them. so now the base of the rocker touches the outer edge and the tip is touching the the top of the retainer. i am using the hotcam rockers and 7.20" pushrods. crane is telling me i need lash caps and longer pushrods. i thought these were a drop in and go.

i haven't heard of anyone having problems with them myself. just don't understand why i am. have checked the length of my pushrods, there right. have checked the installed height of the springs, its right. it's just the damn retainer is so big. i should have spent the extra cash and got the beehives damnit!!

in 2 weeks I'll be installing the same springs but with crane gold 1.6 RR's and Comp Cams Hi-Energy hardened pushrods (stock length). I hope I don't run into problems...

Mine are fine but I have heard that they can potentially touch some SA RR's.

most grind the rockers to fit.

There is another retainer/lock set up that will work and lower the retainer about .050. This should give the clearance you are looking for.

PM or email if you need the info and do not wanna grind the rockers.

Are you running the hotcam? If so those are some pretty stout replacement for such a mild cam. Again... if running the hotcam or equivalent, what made you decide to go with these springs? I was using them for my 847 cam.

I agree with SS RRR on the spring selection. These are some stout springs for the Hot Cam and you can find something for less $$$ that will work with the SA rockers and handle the Hot Cam easily.

If you plan on going larger later on and just wanna get one set of springs now, these are a good choice.

Just wanted to point out that there are other options for the Hot Cam and SA rockers for less $$$ and less headaches.

yes it is just the hot cam and
yes i am going to go bigger in the very near future with the cam, and am also going to be hitting it with a 150hp shot of nos in the mean time. so i felt that putting the springs in now with the 150hp shot would help. and then this summer when i put the better cam in it i wont have to do the springs then, just the cam.
