5800 is the rev limiter as well as where most people shift. Not bouncing off of the limiter though.

I think my rev limiter was removed when it was retuned by the last owner, as I have shifted at 6,000 rpm a few times right after I got it, being used to shifting at 6200 with my LS1...will it hurt my car to be shifting at 6,000??

I try to shift at 5700 now..

If the engine is stock, 5700 is the best shift point. It is a torque engine, not a rev monster. Any mods, all bets are off.
