Default CSR Water pump setup HELP.

I am running a CSR electric water pump on my new motor. When I got the pump it was on a wrecked car that I bought for motor/trans other to help in my motor swap into my 95 bird. Since pulling apart the wrecked car/motor I have misplaced, lost, the male end plug to make the pump work.

Also, I have no wiring diagram nor directions as to how it is supposed to run and how to wire it to perform correctly. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure if the motor is reversable, so I will check the colors of the wires at home and see what ones go to power and what one goes to ground and where they go on the plug so that you can splice them in...

Oh and don't worry about not having the CSI instructions (CSI and CSR are the same, they just made a name change a few years ago), they are useless...

after looking through that page, did you mount a switch?

I was wondering if you could just hardwire the "switch" to a power source in the fuse box, so that everytime you turn the car to the ACC or ON position the WP starts running?

Put it on a "key hot" power source.

I am also interested in whether or not the harness is reversible. When I bought mine from someone on ebay they did not send me a male harness.

Few thoughts:

1) If the CSR pump is anything like the Meziere, there are only two wires to connect. If you reverse power and ground, the pump WILL run backwards. The Meziere impellers are unidirectional, so make sure you get it straight.

2) Yes, you can wire it to turn on by itself with the ignition key -- that's the only way I would recommend doing it (using an automotive relay). THIS is the diagram I used, albeit I slightly modified it to work with an illuminated single-pole-single-throw (SPST) on/off rocker switch (for when I'm working on the car) -- in addition to the two warning LEDs. You can buy all the necessary components at RadioShack.

One LED turns on when power fails, the other when ground fails. If you keep these in your line of sight, it's that much more warning aside from watching the coolant temp gauge climb into the red.

Some LT1 model years have an empty relay slot in the underhood fuse box. I installed a new relay in that empty slot, so everything looks factory. For the record, I think I used 14ga wire.

In addition to the LEDs, I have a Piezo buzzer, which gives me the audio
in addition to the visual.
