Default Self align rr's vs. NSA

i read the write-up's for cam section and im still not clear wich one is better for cc503 cam and stock engine unported heads ect.

whats the advantage of self aligning RR's?

whats the advantage of none-self aligning RR's?

Anyone know which one to run on cc503 and what brand RR's to use? i would like to go with 1.6RR's and whats better 7/16 or the 3/8 stud. The write-up cam section says 7/16 stud is stronger. i just need more info the write-up's unclear for me.

do i have to check vavle geometry with NSA rr's?

I run SA Comp Cams Magnum 1.6's right now with a 3/8 Stud. They work great, the shop that did my install told me the NSA's would be overkill so I took there word for it. However, when I put my a new cam in next month I'm going to swap in some NSA Comp Cams Pro-Magnum's with a 7/16 Stud. NSA are really important when running at higher rpm levels so the rockers cannot slip off the valve tips but Im doing it for peace of mind. If you do go with NSA you will need to get hardened chromemoly pushrods, guideplates, and studs. If you plan to add heads down the road I'd go NSA but for stock heads and the cc503, SA will be fine and NSA will be cheap insurance so its up to you.

yes

Comp Cams NSA Pro Mags 7/16 stud: 1305-16
ARP studs 7/16: 134-7103
Trick Flow guideplates: 30400623-8

thats what you want, its what Lloyd Elliot recommended to me.

I assume the pushrods you are talking about are Trickflow 21407200? thats what I run.

I run NSA, I had SA and had 2 come off the valve at high rpm, so I went overkill and put nsa pro-mags on.

Check ebay for the cam and rockers, I saved about $40 doing that. Your setup looks good to me.

They are the new replacement lifters for lt1's and ls1's etc. etc. They are the same design but a little better to handle high rpm rev's I believe. Reason people go with them alot is because they are cheaper than say the Comp Cams stock replacement lifters.

I know you have the cc503 planned(what im going to be using aswell) but you might check out the Advanced Induction cam kit aswell, has everything you need and is about 100 cheaper.

http://www.advancedinduction.com/AiProductsCK.html

I wouldve gone this route but already had rockers and found a good deal on my cam.
