Default a4 and m6 crank diffrence

Is there any diffrence in the crankshafts exclunding the balancing?I´ve heard something about it but never seen it

The M6 crank should be the same BUT has a pilot bushing installed for the input shaft to slide into. Not really a crank difference but something you need to address if swapping auto to manual.

ah ****, can this been done with the engine assembled? Upon reflection this sounds like a retarded question considering all the A4 to M6 swaps out there.

sure it can be done engine assembled just have to have the tranny disconnected from it.

There are bearings available too but I believe most guys opt for bushings.

Ok,thought so

I removed my m6 crank and replaced it wit an a4 but there wasent a bushin in the m6,i´ve driven it and seems fine,what could i damage other then the trans?

I have auto b-body short block (auto) in my car and a 6 speed and everything related to that seems fine.

I never ran a manual without a pilot bushing, I would guess though that it is hell on the input shaft bearings.

One of those I would never try it to find out sort of things.
