Default What type of gains with a cut out??

I searched for awhile and really didnt get a whole lot of answers.
I just want to know what people have gotten for gains with their cut outs and if they're worth it. Im debating on a qtp e-cutout.

My exhaust set up at the end of the week will be coated hooker ory and hooker lt's with a hooker catback. What type of gains good i expect if i throw in a cut out??

On my bone stock car, I made 10hp and 1tq to the wheels with my cutout open.

Maybe a couple ponies on your car but I would do it just for the fact that when you want it real loud all you have to do is flip that switch.

I really don't think there is a given avg. It varies from car to car, exhaust system to exhaust system. I've seen people on here lose a few ft/lbs while open.

Depends on the Exhaust setup really and how much it flows.. I have mine setup to flow really well with the Cutout open, and then be really restrictive with it closed for Street Driving.

i run the hooker catback, with the cutout under the passenger side rear seat in the int. pipe ran it on thr dyno on spray with the cutout open and closed closed made 433rwhp open made 434rwhp, i wouldnt even consider it a gain, cuz every run is different by a few hp.

I had less than 5 HP gain on my bolt on LT1. Now I have LE heads an cam and there is no doubt there are seat of the pants gains with the cutout open. From what I have read you really need high flowing heads and cam to get decent gains out of a cutout.

With my mods, I notice quite a big difference between having the cutout capped and uncapped. I wish I had an electric one though. I hate having to crawl under the car to uncap it. I never have it uncapped at the right times either.

If youre going from a stock exhaust to a cutout, it will help some.
All its does is eliminate back pressure.
