Transmission fixes itself?
I bought my 98 TA a little over a month ago and the entire time I've had it, the car wouldn't downshift from sixth to fifth. I had to go to fourth, but not let out the clutch, and then to fifth.
It really sucked, but the other day, I just tried to downshift for s's and g's and what do you know, it worked. What the heck is going on?
I even had a reputable transmission shop drive the car and told me it needed a rebuild.
Other than that, the transmission is fine.
Anyway, two questions:
1. Do I need to have it rebuild right away to prevent further damage?
2. Will anyone in Texas rebuild the trani for a decent price if I pull it out and bring it to you?
