Automotive Surveillance Cameras

Automotive Surveillance Cameras
Ive had enough, I DD my 2001 SS so I expect some dents and dings from nomal wear and tear. Yesterday some a**hat keyed my car in the parking lot at work. This is the 5th incident ive had in the past year in this parking lot, first time getting keyed but it has been hit (minor dents/scrapes from people that cant f*cking park) on 4 other occasions. I cant park any further from the building (as far away from others as I can) There are no security cameras (ive already asked) and the security guards ive delt with have been dicks (they could care less)...
Anyway, are there any companies that make some sort of 360 degree surveillance camera I can mount somewhere in the car? Ive found cameras that take pictures when a motion sensor is activated, but then I can only point it in one direction, with my luck the back will get hit when the camera is facing forward.
Thanks in Advance.

I would address it with your boss. If you have security guards then they should be attempting to keep the parking areas and such secure. Obviously it isn't possible to catch everything that goes on but if they are sitting in their guard shack reading a Playboy they aren't doing their job. What shift do you work anyway?

-I work 7:30-4, ive parked in 4 different locations so far (most remote places you can possibly park here) and ive been hit in every one. The further away I park the less it happens, but it is still getting hit (now keyed).
-People take walks around the parking lot during lunch time (I work for a BIG company) so people walking around the lot is not out of the ordinary.
-Security here is more for the buildings, keeping classified information secure kind of thing... I dont think they care to much about the parking lot. But I will definetly be making more of a stink from now on.

Did you ever think you're making yourself a target by being arrogant and parking away from the other workers etc.,? Do you have any feuds with any Coworkers? Just a couple of things to ponder.
Maybe get a trunk monkey?

Well, if you want to get serious about it, check out:
http://www.supercircuits.com
Get ready to spend some money, but I figure for about $650 you could set your car up with a full camera / DVR system inside. You'll probably need 4 cameras (one looking out each window). Figure $200 for those. Then for about $450 you can get a mobile 4-camera DVR with a 40GB drive to record everything.
If you're willing to drop back to 1 camera, you can do it for probably around $250. Small camera ($50) and a mini-DVR ($190).
Supercircuits also has a camera that looks like a radar detector... $190 though.
It can be done.
Of course, if you REALLY want to be cheap about it, buy 4 VCR's for $20/ea & stack 'em in your trunk (on SLP Record, that'll get ya 6 hours), a few cheap ebay cameras, and for probably $150 you'd be all up in there...

I have been thinking of installing some of these in my car and setting up a recorder of some sort...

Install one of these. Whoever keeps doing this to your car just might back off if they see a camera blinking at them. Or maybe not.

lmao, exactly my thoughts!! Buy a little DD car off of craigslist for 2k or somethin. That's my plan. I park in a parking lot right now as well. I park WAY out there in the back. I don't take chances. It's worth waking an extra 40 seconds or so to keep that car dent/scratch free! Plus I get to stare at my car the whole way back!
