Default swapping LS1 in my '99 TA

So.... my engine hydrolocked this last year. It's been sitting in the garage since last spring and it's time to put another engine in it.

Looking at a more recent 'vette engine or a more recent TA LS1 and I'm wondering what gotcha's to keep an eye out for.

Trying to match the G in the VIN first of all. Had a guy warn me that the vettes with the digital dash feed thru the PCM and give problems matching with my analog TA dash. Had a guy tell me that putting in the '03 vette engine I would have to swap a TA type oil pan on to it.
Figured I'd look around in here and pick the brains of those who actually swap engine into TA's.

just swap the long block, and your fine. The pcm does not care.

you will need a f-car oil pan.

Not having done this before.....
Use the donor PCM as opposed to the 'puter already in the car?

Possibly swap out an LS6 intake?

Swap in a 6.0L Long block (from a truck, GREAT flowing heads) and put on your intake You'd need a tune though for the extra cubic inches.
